There are a number of special fairs and festivals that are available under the Cultural Arts Program. These include the Spring RAKU Festival, the Spring Arts Festival and the Holiday Open House.
Spring RAKU Festival
This is an annual festival which is held on the first Saturday in April. Activity takes place in the parking lot of the Art Center at 1928 Calhoun Street. Guest RAKU artists are invited to participate and bring their own kilns. The community is invited to watch the artists at work and can even participate in some of the festival to get the hands on experience. Pottery from local artists as well as the guest artists is available for purchase. Admission to this event is free.
Spring Arts Festival
Vendors and craftsmen gather to display their crafts. Some of the artisans and craftsmen will have live demonstrations throughout the day. Admission is free.
Holiday Open House
The Art Center has followed a tradition of having the studio members art work available for a holiday sale. This is an annual event that is always well stocked with a variety of local art from the many talented studio members. Included with the Open House is an exhibition of works created by the participants of Creative Journey, an Art Resource Program that reaches out to the mlitary and vets.
