The Columbia Parks & Recreation Department and AARP will host a free educational workshop on Wednesday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Busby Street Community Center, 1735 Busby Street.
This month's topic is "What's On Your Mind?" Brain Health for Older Americans.
The workshop is open to adults age 55 and older and caregivers. Guests will learn the following:
- How to preserve a healthy brain to reduce your risk of dementia or Alzheimer's
- What are the early signs of dementia or Alzheimer's
- What resources are available for you and your caregiver
Workshops will be held on the last Wednesday of each month through November 2019. The last workshop for the year will be held on Wednesday, December 18. Light refreshments will be served.
