Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee

 

 

 

 

Function:

The purpose of this committee is to receive; review proposals from organizations requesting money from the City’s Accommodations Tax Fund; and make recommendations to City Council on those proposals.

This committee was created by S.C. Code 12-35-720.

 

Composition:

There are seven (7) council appointments. Of the seven (7) members four (4) must be designated hospitality industry representatives and two (2) of which must be from the lodging sector. One (1) member must be a cultural interest representative. The other two (2) may citizens in the community.

Term of office is two (2) years and eligible for one (1) reappointment.

All appointees must reside and/or work in the corporate limits of the city.

Meetings are held on a quarterly basis or as needed.
